Len & Lois Lauriello Celebrate GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
They Met Their True Love in Wildwood

Len & Lois Lauriello
September 24, 1960, Len & Lois Lauriello renew their vows

On September 24, 1960, my third oldest brother, Leonard (Lenny) married his high school sweetheart, Lois (Loie) Huston. The wedding took place at St. Ann’s Church in Wildwood and I remember thinking that Loie looked like a beautiful doll in her wedding gown since she was so tiny and petite. Lenny was dashing in his white tux and just full of smiles. The reception was held at Dom’s Restaurant (now La Piazza) as my Dad and a few of my brothers worked summers there and the Schiarro Family were close family friends. It was a great celebration; only missing my one brother Ben who was in the Army and best man by proxy.

On September 24, 2010, another party was held at The Bolero, honoring their 50th Anniversary. Once again, we were all there to join Lenny and Loie in celebrating this momentous occasion. This party was followed by Father Fields renewing their marriage vows at St. Ann’s Church on Saturday, September 25, 2010.

Len and Lois met in Wildwood High School. Although they were in different grades, they were inseparable and dated for four years. They hung around with the same group of friends – and, to this day, remain friends: Lola & Bob Borden, Harold & Doris Ellingsen and Pete and Maryann Balzer. We lived on Park Boulevard between Taylor & Andrews Avenue and Loie lived in West Wildwood.

I remember one particular afternoon sitting in Lenny’s blue Comet waiting outside the Acme for Loie to get done from work when Lenny asked me what I was studying in school. I answered and then asked what he studied – his answer was he was busy studying Loie!!!

Loie & Len raised three children, Leonard Jr., Richard & Michelle. They first lived in a house on West Taylor Avenue and then moved to their present house on East Hand Ave. They have been in several businesses, most notably owning and operating the Holly Beach Motel for over thirty years. Lenny retired as Captain from the Holly Beach Fire Department and owned and operated Lauriello Electric for over twenty years as well. Loie is known by many as one of the most friendly and efficient cashiers the Acme ever had! She also served on Wildwood’s Council.

Their greatest accomplishment by far has been their marriage and their family. They are most proud of their children and grandchildren. Their son Lenny is married to Maria and they have two sons, Alex and Sebastian who live in Coconut Creek, Florida. Their son Richie is married to Lisa and they have two children, James & Daniella and they reside in St. Lucie West, Florida. Their daughter Missy lives in Wildwood.

Another great love for Len & Lois is Wildwood. They have a home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, but Wildwood always calls them home.
