Miss Bobi
Miss BobiMost everyone has heard the expression “There is a place for everything and everything in its place.” Bobi first mentally repeated this when straightening her belongings as a young girl. Hiding them under the bed to make it look as if she had, sometimes an option exercised! Later in life through trusted mentors and independent intensive study, she definitively concluded there is a perfect order for all things. Harboring a belief system that this mysterious order occurs naturally over time at a hand greater and more powerful then most, she works playfully in many multi-faceted positions and feels intensely gifted in her life. She truly believes that these gifts are by “Thy Grace” not hers.

Every thing fell into place over time and some extraordinary people came to be a part of her life. There is a beginning to this story, as well as a middle and ultimately there will be an end but yes, there are still some things now kept under the bed in their perfect place.

Because at times she is overwhelmed by thankfulness, Bobi wants to graciously express how much she loves and feels loved on this 5 mile island. This is where her now grown twin daughters were raised safely, where destiny, preparation and opportunity has afforded her a living through the Wildwood Crest Recreation Department, and as sole proprietor of Kaivalyabound. (She also works together with her friend Amanda as an event coordinator for Dragonfly Wellness Studio offshore.) She takes nightly walks with her best man Dean and dog Tuco, and enjoys the richness of a beautiful community where nature takes it course and one is free to observe all the beauty here.

Her work with the local age group swim team known as the Wildwood Crest Dolphins has had much impact on her as well as those involved. One mother shared the effect that Bobi had on her daughter’s life; that she made such a difference that it altered the course of her entire life. She said, “Bobi holds a special place in my heart. Victoria was afraid of the water when she was young. I took her to ‘Mommy and Me’ class with Bobi in hopes of conquering that fear. Halfway through the session I became pregnant with my second child, Grace, and my activity was strictly curtailed. I thought I would have to give up the class, but Bobi said she would be Victoria's mommy for the rest of the class. Victoria ended up conquering her fear of the water and Bobi was so impressed with her grace in the water that she recommended that she join the Dolphin Swim Team. Seventeen years later Victoria Lederer is a college All-American swimmer on the Division III National Championship team. I believe none of this would have happened if not for Bobi being my substitute and teaching Victoria how to blow bubbles! Bobi truly changed Victoria's path in life. And for that I am so grateful for her.”

Bobi’s range of classes vary from yoga (sunrise yoga on the new Crest Pier, sunset yoga by Sunset Lake, both in the summertime) to h2O aerobics where she teaches with passion and inspires a holistic approach to exercise that emphasizes a healthy balance in mind, body and spirit.

Wanting to honor Bobi in The SUN and to show appreciation for all that she is, posed quite a challenge for us. She is not your typical, average gal, or your everyday fitness instructor, or swim coach. Bobi goes beyond to embrace each moment with each person she meets and their well being becomes her main goal and focus. Our photographer, Rob has connections with Bobi as well, that extend as far back to when he was age 3 learning how to swim in her class. Over the years of training for the Beach Patrol, or just hanging out at the pool during open swim nights, Bobi often sent him home with a recipe to remedy a cold or another ailment, or with some words of wisdom or encouragement. As Rob embarked on an inspirational photo shoot of Miss Bobi, he worked his old school camera to the beat of her itunes playing during one of her water aerobics classes, as he hoped to capture her sparkling spirit.

Together with Rob's imagery, nostalgic photos, these words, and some prose, we hope to have communicated to you at least a portion of her beauty both inside and out. ~jointly composed by Dorothy Kulisek & Bobi Watson
